Medieval Europe Interviews
Interviwer Flor Santos- Today we will be talking to two medieval Europeans about their opinions on cultural exchange. Let's begin.
European 1 Amelia Smith- I beleive cultural exchange is a very good thing and can lead to success. For example, the Crusades. We got introduced to new, more modern weapons that helped us battle against the Muslims, and although we did not win, those weapons surely helped us a lot more than the ones we had. So, exchange can become success because it can result to more neccasary objects than can help improve our country.
Interviewer Flor Santos- Thank you, now lets move on to someone who doesn't see exchange as a positive thing.
European 2 Arthur John- I disagree. Cultural exchange has impacted our country negatively, just look at the bubonic plague. We all know that was originated in China was carried on to Europe. This plague is wiping out a large portion of our population, and that creates economical issues as well. Sure, exchange might help in some cases, but it mostly causes one problem that will lead to another, and we don't need that.
Interviewer Flor Santos- You both have very good points, and have given us some things to consider about the topic of cultural exchange.
Modern Japan Interviews
Interviewer Ami Haas- Today, We will be interviewing two people living in modern day Japan about their opinions on weather cultural exchange is for the best or worst. I will first be interviewing Mr. Katsune Suzuki. Mr. Suzuki, What is your opinion on cultural exchange?
Mr. Katsune Suzuki- I think that cultural exchange is a good thing that has benefitted us in many ways. One way is that the more people that enter the country, the more opportunities. For example, we now have places that can offer jobs that we didn't have before cultural exchange like McDonald's. This created many more job opportunities for us. Also, We got advances in products that helped us become the top fish marketers in the world. Considering these and several other things, I must say cultural exchange is very beneficial to our country and that we could not live without it.
Interviewer Ami Haas- Thank you for your time. Next up, we are going to be interviewing Ms. Ushio Okazaki. Ms. Okazaki, pleasure to have you here.
Ms. Ushio Okazaki- The pleasure's mine. Please, call me Ushio.
Interviewer Ami Haas- Well then, Ushio, What do you think about cultural exchange? Has it brought progress to your country? How so?
Ms. Ushio Okazaki- Cultural exchange...hmmm...I think that it has brought us some useful things, but overall has not created progress in our country. Recently, We have been trading and exchanging cultures more. This brought more people into japan, and as Katsune said, More places for work were brought here. This was a good thing, except people came into the country and stole possible job opportunities from us. This did not help our country in anyway. Another thing that did not help that may have been an effect due to cultural exchange is Terrorism. The government has been extra cautious since 9/11. Even though this did not effect Japan directly, It still influenced us from the strong bonds of cultural exchange. All in all, cultural exchange did not create progress in Japan.
Interviewer Ami Haas- Thank you for the interview. Now we have seen both sides of the story. We have posted a video below on what Flor and my conclusions are on this subject below. Thanks to all of our supporters and staff for making this possible.
